Program Overview

SCUT has been organizing summer camp program in Chinese language and culture for nearly ten years. The summer camp program has been developed specially with international students those who are interested in learning or increaing knowledge of Chinese language, culture and history. Through a series of class teaching and activities, participants will be able to conduct usual communication by using Chinese language and gain with a greated understanding of China, its people and history.

Curriculum and activities:

(1) The program is mainly comprised of Chinese Listening Comprehension, Conversation, Reading.

(2) Cultural courses and activities include: Contemporary Chines Economy, Chinese Culture, Chinese History and Geography, Chinese Calligraphy, Shadowboxing, Chinese Kung-fu, etc;

(3) 2-3 visits to local companies;

(4) Activities: Inner city tours are offered once a week (scenic spots, museums, acrobatics etc.); Weekend tours, such as to Hong Kong and Macau, are available at the students’ own expense.

The Summer Camp Program will be held at the North Campus (Tianhe Campus) of South China University of Technology.

Fees

• Tuition: RMB 2,000
• On-campus Accommodation: RMB 1,000 (Air-conditioned Double Room)

★ All fees are non-refundable if a student decides to withdraw.

Completion of the Program

All students will be awarded a certificate after they finish of the full summer course.

The dormitory is equipped with: bed, desk, chair, wardrobe, bookcase, Internet port.

Note:
Dormitory beds are limited, and the dormitory is allocated on a "first come, first served" basis;
The accommodation fee shall be settled in RMB. The accommodation fee shall be paid upon check-in (online or bank card payment, cash not accepted);
International students may live off campus, but must register at the local police station within 24 hours of arrival. ·
Stay less than one month, the fee is calculated by day, the standard is as follows (only applicable to five Hills campus)

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1. People who are interested in learning Chinese (Mandarin) and experience Chinese culture
2. Participants can be Chinese learners of all proficiency levels, including completely beginners
3. Individual applicant is acceptable

   With name, passport number & expiration date, and photo included
2. Passport photo
   A recent passport-sized photo of the applicant
3. Health certificate
   Not needed during application. But may required when applying for visa.
