Long-term Classes

Dalian University of Technology is located in Dalian, which is a trading and financial center in northeastern Asia and has gained the fame of the 'Hong Kong of Northern China'. Situated in such a economically dynamic and coastally picturesque city, Dalian University of Technology is a comprehensive university with engineering as its concentration. Many English-medium engineering-related degree programs have been popular among International students, such as bachelor's degree Chemical Engineering and Technology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Manufacture and Automation, master's degree Ideology Education, Business Administration, Management Science and Engineering and MSc Program in Transportation Engineering. Besides, a total of 310 degree programs taught in Chinese are available as well, including 59 bachelor's degree programs, 145 master's degree programs and 106 doctoral degree programs. Or, you can choose to study pure Mandarin in either Long-term Classes or Short-term Chinese Program. For those who desire for creating a successful career in the engineering field, DLUT will make preparations for you to step on the first step towards a bright future.

Long-term Classes (one year) enroll new students twice annually in March and September respectively, offering five levels: elementary, intermediate and advanced courses and so on. Students are expected to attend 22~24 hours of required courses and 2~8 hours of selective courses per week from Monday to Friday.

Note: You could attend the long-term autumn and spring Chinese Learning courses in the mid-time for learning 2 or 3 months if you have the corresponding Chinese foundation.

Required Courses

Threshold and Elementary Classes: intensive reading (including grammar), listening comprehension, oral Chinese, Chinese character reading and writing

Intermediate and Advanced Classes: intensive reading (including grammar), listening comprehension, oral Chinese, Chinese writing, Chinese reading and Chinese culture.

Selective Courses

Shadowboxing, calligraphy, ancient Chinese, business Chinese, Chinese and foreign movie class, and coaching classes for HSK Test.

Features of the Course: focusing on the training of the students' ability to use the language in practice; class size is kept in an average of 20 people; Chinese language practicing activities for a week is organized every semester with all students participating; a good language environment is provided by the school for students to practice in. We have highly qualified and experienced teaching staff that ensures the quality of teaching and significant teaching achievements.

School of International Cultural Exchanges

The School of International Cultural Exchanges was set up to take the responsibility for the enrollment, education and management of international students.  To date, about 4,000 students from more than 50 countries have studied here, pursuing their bachelor's, master's degree or Chinese language training. Through many years' practice, the school has gained in experience and reputation in the area of teaching and management.

Dalian University of Technology is in the southwest of Dalian, close to Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. International students are all welcomed to live in campus. All rooms are equipped with balcony, wardrobe, desk, chair, air conditioner and shared/private bathroom. Beddings should be prepared by students themslves.

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

1.Under the age of 18 to 60 years old
2.(Applicants must) Be in good health
3.High school graduate or equivalent or above.
4.Applicant under age 18 must have a guardian who lives in Dalian

1.Photocopy of valid passport
With photo, passport number &expiration date and name included.

2.Passport-sized photo
A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.

3.Graducation Certificate of High school
Graduation Certificate should be in English or Chinese, if not，it should be translated into English or Chinese and be notarized
