Basic Life Support/CPR BMA Seminar
The Study Section of the IES Student Union held its final Basic Medical Assessment Seminar of the 2017/2018 academic year on Sunday May 27th, 2018 and the re-run on Saturday June 2nd, 2018. The seminars were facilitated by Nevado Simms and Gouthami Sajjanagandla, final year IES students of China Medical University.
They were assisted by the members of the Study Section. This seminar was focused on Basic Life Support (BLS), and had an impressive and encouraging turnout of students participating on both days.
Skill taught included: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(CPR) and Heimlich maneuver (choking relieving maneuver) for adults, pregnant women, children and infants. Participating students displayed a high level of enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.
Nevado and Gouthami advised students and addressed issues concerning life in CMU, internship and medical school as a whole.
The event was very interactive and hands on. It fulfilled the purpose for which it was held as participants attested to having learnt a lot and were grateful for the seminar.
We appreciate the IES student body for their encouraging participation in the Basic Medical Assessment Seminars of this academic year. The Study Section will continue to organize events like this in the upcoming academic year, and warmly invites every CMU student to come and join us next school year.
