Situated in Dalian, one of the most European-style coastal city in China, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) has a long history of more than 50 years. It's a multidisciplinary, teaching-and-research-oriented university focusing on economics, management and ranked the third best financial university of China. Meanwhile, DUFE has always payed attention to international cooperation, providing English-taught courses including International Business Management(IBM), International Trade and Tourism Management of master and bachelor's degree etc.. And so far, it has established friendly cooperative relations with 75 universities and one international agency from 18 different countries or regions.

ProgramAbout the Program

Global Institute of Management & Economic (GIME) at Dongbei University of Finance and Economic (DUFE) offer an BSc in TM (Tourism Management) based on teaching and research, complemented with practical application of learning during internship. This degree seeks to develop active and critical tourism professionals with an international perspective, a sound knowledge of contemporary tourism management theories, methods and practices, awareness of trends/issues in world tourism markets as well the communication, teamwork and organizational skills and competencies to work in management, marketing, planning, consultancy and research. This Tourism Management course is designed especially for overseas students who have an interest in studying tourism in China, which is expected to be the world’s top tourism destination by 2020. The course provides understanding of the tourism business and helps to develop the core skills and capabilities needed to enter a successful career in the tourism industry. While the course is featured by study of tourism management in the international context, students will also have opportunities to learn more about the country where they study, the Chinese language and the culture through relevant modules. The learning and teaching methods are a combination of lectures, seminars, tutorials, study tours and project-based assignments.

About Dongbei University of Finance and Economics

Founded in 1952, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) is a multi-disciplinary teaching and research university with particular strength in the fields of economics and management. DUFE is located west of Xinghai Park in Dalian city, which is a famous national scenic site. There are five discipline categories: economics, management, law, literature, and science. 

DUFE has 31 undergraduate majors, 72 master's programs, and 42 doctoral programs. Four of the doctoral programs are authorized first-class PhD programs. The university is also home to three first-class post-graduate research institutes, three national-level key programs, and four provincial-level key disciplines.



DUFE has over twenty years of experienced in international education. It has produced thousands of graduates from over 60 countries all over the world. We have formed an International Students Education Management System which includes undergraduate programs, graduate programs, doctoral degree programs and short-term or long-term Chinese and Business Chinese courses. DUFE is a nationally designated Business Chinese Test (BCT) center and a test center for the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK). It is also a host institution of China Government Scholarship for international students.

DUFE emphasizes a students-centered educational approach and our goal is to train the international students to master both economics and Chinese language. The International Institute of Chinese Language and Culture (IICLC) is a designated administrative institution at DUFE to recruit international students and to provide teaching and living facilities to students. IICLC has also established special undergraduate programs in Chinese Language, Economics and Management for international students. The current long-term student’s population of IICLC is more than 400, among whom about 200 are pursuing degrees. International students have their own teaching building, dormitory and restaurant.

Introduction


IICLC provides international students with comfortable dormitories. Overseas Student Dormitory accommodates single rooms and suites equipped with land line, internet access, cable and a bathroom (24 hours hot water available). Each floor of the building has a study room, a shared kitchen and a laundry room. Off-campus residence is also available. IICLC office may provide house leasing information.


Besides the on-campus cafeteria, the shared kitchen on each floor is equipped with electromagnetic oven, microwave oven, fridge for those who cook their own meals.
