CUP-HWU Msc Reservoir Management Programme

China University of Petroleum, founded in 1953, has ascended into China's excellent state universities and is subordinate to the Ministry of Education (MOE) in China.It always subjects to the open policy that welcomes International cooperation and exchanges. The Ministry of Education approved our university of carry out this joint programme with Heriot-Watt University in 2004. The whole programme is carried out and conducted in English.

Courses

There are three parts of this programme: degree courses learning, Field Development Project and Research Project Paper; The 8 required degree courses include Petroleum Geosciences, Formation Evaluation, Reservoir Engineering, Well Test Analysis, Reservoir Simulation, Production Technology, Drilling Engineering and Project Economics.

Duration

This program only accepts 30 students, and the length of schooling is 1.5 year, first half year for English learning and the other year for professional study. Students will graduate with full completion of the three parts or the programme and obtain Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering awarded by Heriot-Watt University. The diploma and certificate are internationally recognized and authorized.

Entrance and Fees Applicants should go to Qingdao Campus Petrolium Engineering College, China University of Petrolumn (Huadong) for applying this program (or mailing after contacting with the university) with diploma certificate and graduation certificate. Pay application fee RMB 200 and get application form both in Chinese and English. After approved by the Heriot-Watt University, you could come to register with admission letter.

You should pay total tuition fee RMB 97500 one-time, teaching materials fee RMB 1500, accommodation fee RMB 9000/year/person (for more than one year, charge 30 RMB/day)

Graduation and Certifiation

HWU set and conduct all examinations and assess the Projects. Learners that have completed the modules will be awarded MSc in Petroleum Engineering of HWU. Learners that failed to complete hte modules of dropped out shall be allowed in their student status in the nexzt 18-month program session. During the session, the learners could get back to the unfinished modules. Once completed, the learners shall be awarded the degree certificate.

China University of Petroleum (CUP) is a state key comprehensive university under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education of PRC and also one of the national "211 Project" universities. The university was founded in 1953, named Beijing Petroleum Institute, and moved to Shandong Province in 1969 with its name changed to East China Petroleum Institute. The university was renamed University of Petroleum in 1988 with two campuses respectively in Shandong and Beijing, and changed its name into China University of Petroleum in January 2005.
 
China University of Petroleum (Huadong) has two campuses respectively in Dongying and Qingdao. The university has over 1,400 professional teachers, of whom 683 professors and associate professors, 739 doctoral supervisors and Master tutors.
 
China University of Petroleum a teaching and research university with its focus on engineering and multiple disciplines coordinately developed. It has 5 state key disciplines, and 2  state key cultivating disciplines, 4 post-doctor stations, 4 first-grade disciplines and 32 second-grade disciplines for conferring doctoral degrees. The dormitories are equipped with bathrooms, balconies, hot water shower and power available 24 hours a day. 

Accommodation Fees

Note:
1.  The 1 housing is required to pay the housing deposit 1000RMB, check out when no one in the room for the damaged goods to refund the deposit.
2.  In at least 2 students pay 3 months’ rent.
3.  International Students Building provides 3 month free single room of 60 degrees electricity, 3 party water, double room of 120 degrees electricity, 6 party water; the excess burden of its own. 
    Electricity worth 0.54 Yuan / degree, water charges 2.5 Yuan / square. Heating free use. No. 9 not receiving utilities.
4.  Students need to pay Internet fee by themselves.
5.  All fees need to be paid by month.
6. Short-term and temporary stay students do not enjoy the water and electricity subsidies, according to the actual need of charging amount.
7. The government scholarship students and free exchange students are free for electricity and water fees.
8. Rooms from floor 3 to 12 on both east and west side of International Students Building are larger; Each month costs another 100 RMB

3 Steps to Apply to a Chinese University

Applicants from domestic and overseas should have a Bachelor Degree and fluent English.

1.Photocopy of valid passport
With name, passport number & expiration date, and photo included

A recent passport-sized photo of the applicant

3.Undergraduate school transcript

4.Bachelor's degree diploma
Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization.

5.English proficiency test certificate
For example, IELTS or TOEFL, only for applicant whose native language is not English.

 
6.Two letters of recommendation
From professor or associate professor or equivalents

 
7.Resume
Written in Chinese or in English
