FAQ

Q
Where are the coastal cities in China?
A

China has many coastal cities where international students can enjoy a distinctive seaside environment, coastal culture, and access to marine industries and coastal activities. Coastal cities also vary considerably in climate, size, cost of living, and lifestyle.

The cities currently featured in SICAS’ “Coastal Cities” category are:

Dalian, Qingdao, Ningbo, Xiamen, Fuzhou, Haikou, Yantai, Weihai, Qinhuangdao, Nantong, Wenzhou, Zhuhai, Shantou, Zhanjiang, Beihai, Lianyungang, Taizhou, and Jiaxing.

Depending on the city, students can enjoy beaches, seafood, waterfront areas, coastal culture, and a range of outdoor activities. Some coastal cities are also important centres for international trade, manufacturing, shipping, and other industries.

When choosing a coastal city, consider its university options, climate, cost of living, lifestyle, and career opportunities.
